Like a Mirror…

Adventures-of-Algy-080418.jpg

As he continued to explore the harbour around the fishermen’s pier, Algy suddenly noticed a patch of what looked like spring flowers on the far side of the bay, where many smaller boats were floating in deeper water beside a strange, man-made structure. Flying across to investigate, Algy discovered something very odd. One of the boats, which had been washed up high onto the shore, was full of small daffodils. They were even crowding up through a wee hole at the end. Algy perched beside the flowers for a while, puzzling over this strange phenomenon. Was it possible that soil got thrown into stranded boats during the winter storms, and daffodils seeded themselves there? It hardly seemed likely…

But it was such a beautiful day that Algy decided not to worry his fluffy head too much about things he could not understand… The sun was shining, the sea was exceptionally calm, and the bay looked just like a deep blue mirror. So he leaned back among the flowers and gazed contentedly at the pretty scene, relaxing in the welcome spring sunshine…

Algy wishes you all a very happy Sunday, and hopes that you all have a chance to relax in beautiful surroundings today 😀

Spring has Sprung :)

Adventures-of-Algy-260317.jpg

It was a fine spring afternoon on the warmest day so far this year. Of course that doesn’t mean it was warm by the standards of some of Algy’s friends around the world; indeed, they would probably have found it quite chilly. But it was decidedly warm for the Scottish Highlands in March and, better still, there was very little wind. Algy noticed that some of the other birds were sunbathing for the first time this spring, so he decided to try it too. The skylarks were singing overhead, some early bumble bees were busy among the flowers, and there was even a butterfly fluttering about, so Algy spent a very pleasant and peaceful Sunday afternoon, resting among the daffodils in the sunshine, and he hopes that you have all enjoyed a happy Sunday afternoon too 🙂

Happy Birthday Algy!

As you may have heard, it’s Algy’s 5th birthday today…

So some of Algy’s fluffy friends got together and presented him with a bouquet of beautiful pink roses, and a pretty little windmill, as they thought that – given the weather typical in the wild West Highlands of Scotland – it would have plenty of occasion to go round and round 🙂

Happy 5th Tumblr Birthday Algy!

Algy is holding a very special Tumblr birthday party TODAY on his sideblog @lovefromalgy.

He has already received lots and lots of wonderful contributions and messages from his amazing Tumblr friends – in fact, he has received so many that the party will be continuing for many hours yet!

So Algy hopes that you will all join in the celebrations and submit your own images to share with all Algy’s Tumblr friends 🙂

When Algy woke the next morning, he found that the Scotch mist had descended again, and it was even darker and gloomier than before, and exceedingly damp.

The forecasters were saying that a big storm was on its way, but for the moment it was calm, although very dreich and dismal. Algy decided that in conditions such as these, more hugs were needed, so he took his little blue monster out to see the daffodils emerging from the ground, and gave it a great big fluffy hug 🙂

Have you hugged your monster today? Algy sends lots of extra fluffy hugs to all those who may be in need of extra hugs today xoxo

Algy’s monster was sent to him by @monster-hugs some years ago, and travelled thousands of miles around the world, just to keep him company and give him someone extra to hug 🙂

On Easter morning the sky was black and the rain was pouring down, sometimes mixed with large chunks of icy hail. Everything was awash, so Algy stayed under cover, impatiently waiting for a chance to go and search for Easter eggs. He wondered whether it was even possible for the Easter Bunny to bring eggs in such incredibly wet conditions…

Eventually, after many hours of watching the rain, Algy was delighted to see the sun burst through the clouds. He rushed out of the bushes and started flying here, there and everywhere, searching, searching, searching… Suddenly, he noticed a patch of unusual colour under a clump of daffodils, and dashed towards it. There was the bunny, relaxing on the sodden grass in the sunshine, and around him were several brightly-coloured eggs…

Algy wishes you all a very fluffy Happy Easter, and hopes that the Easter Bunny brought you something special today too xoxo

The weather was calm, but very, very wet. The world was blanketed in dense Scotch mist, and everything was dripping, dripping, dripping…

Algy flew into his assistants’ garden, to find some daffodils for all his friends at Easter time. Many flowers had been broken in the gales, and he started to collect them up carefully, but there were plenty still standing; it made Algy happy to see their pretty, wet heads nodding at him gently in the constant drizzle.

Algy hopes that you will all have a peaceful and happy Easter weekend and will find some lovely flowers, even if the weather is grey or cold or wet (or all three!) where you are too. Happy spring, everyone in the northern hemisphere! xoxo
